Radiometric aerial thermal orthomosaic of the Buc-ee's property and parking areas

Reality Capture / Aerial Thermal Imagery

Aerial Thermal Imagery

Drone-mounted radiometric sensors capture temperature information across roofs, solar arrays, facilities, and infrastructure. Eagle organizes the resulting data in DroneDeploy so project teams can review mapped thermal patterns across large or difficult-to-access assets.

What It Captures

Radiometric Data: Temperature Information in Every Pixel.

A radiometric sensor records temperature information at every pixel. Eagle processes and georeferences overlapping captures to produce a thermal orthomosaic, giving your team both the radiometric source imagery and a continuous mapped view of recorded temperature patterns.

Per-Pixel Values

Each radiometric pixel retains temperature information from the captured image.

Mapped Context

Processed and georeferenced imagery places the recorded temperature information across the documented asset.

Broader Coverage

Aerial collection documents variation across large, elevated, or difficult-to-access areas.

How Eagle Delivers Thermal Data

From Project Scope to Delivered Thermal Products.

01

Define the Asset & Objective

Confirm the area, intended use, intended users, access requirements, schedule, and required deliverables.

02

Plan the Mission

Review site access, applicable FAA airspace, operating restrictions, authorization requirements, operating conditions, required coverage, and the appropriate UAS configuration.

03

Collect the Radiometric Imagery

Acquire overlapping radiometric imagery across the area included in the agreed scope.

04

Process, Review & Deliver

Process and georeference the captured imagery, complete quality review, organize the thermal products and project workspace, and provide authorized access.

Aircraft & Project Requirements

UAS Options for Large, Complex, and Controlled-Access Assignments.

Eagle uses quad UAS platforms equipped for radiometric thermal collection across roofs, facilities, solar arrays, equipment areas, and other accessible assets. The aircraft and mission are selected around the required coverage, operating environment, procurement conditions, and agreed deliverables.

FAA Part 107 Remote Pilots

Flight operations are conducted under FAA Part 107 by pilots holding FAA Remote Pilot Certificates.

NDAA Compliant

Eagle can deploy qualifying aircraft and sensor configurations when a project includes applicable federal procurement or supply-chain requirements.

Blue UAS Approved

Blue UAS Approved aircraft may be available when specified by the project, client, agency, or site requirements.

From its Denton and Waco offices, Eagle supports aerial thermal assignments across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, Central Texas, and projects throughout Texas, with select Reality Capture assignments supported outside the state.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Project Teams Ask About Aerial Thermal Imagery.

What is Aerial Thermal Imaging?

Aerial thermal imaging uses a radiometric thermal sensor mounted on a UAS to capture temperature data across roofs, facilities, solar arrays, equipment areas, and other accessible assets. Deliverables may include georeferenced radiometric imagery and thermal orthomosaics in which each pixel contains temperature information. The data can help qualified engineers, consultants, inspectors, and analysts identify patterns or anomalies requiring further evaluation.

Does Eagle Surveying interpret or diagnose thermal conditions?

No. Eagle Surveying captures, processes, georeferences, and delivers thermal data, but we do not diagnose moisture intrusion, heat loss, equipment failure, roof condition, or other thermal causes. The client’s engineer, roofing consultant, building-envelope specialist, inspector, or other qualified professional interprets the information and determines whether additional investigation or corrective action is appropriate.
